Cool Registry Idea

Here's a great tip if you already have stuff and want to do something amazingly cool for your wedding registry: honeymoon activities!

What's a Honeymoon Registry?

If you want a really cool idea for your guests, and you already have most of the things you need, here's an alternate option: a honeymoon registry. My wife and I married in our mid-30's and we lived in a tiny apartment in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. We had most everything we needed, and we didn't have a lot of room for anything more. We didn't need much, so we listed a few small select household items on our registry, and offered a second registry option: honeymoon activities.

If you are taking a trip, or a cruise, or going somewhere that might have purchasable activities or amenities, contact them and ask if they have a honeymoon registry. Imagine how much more it would mean to the person buying you a wedding gift, to be able to give you an unforgettable experience that you will treasure far long than a toaster or a set of matching bathroom towels.

We honeymooned at Walt Disney World and we got to swim with the dolphins in The Living Seas at EPCOT. We had a romantic horse and carriage ride through Fort Wilderness. We had a fun photo session at the Polynesian Resort. All of these were purchased for us as wedding gifts, and we still treasure those memories almost 20 years later!

Take Pictures for Thank You Notes

Imagine sending a thank you note to the person (or people) who purchased an amazing experience for you on your honeymoon. Now imagine sending along a photograph of you enjoying their gift! It's so very cool to be able to share such memories with the people who helped you have them in the first place!

My wife and I took a photo in the water with Calvin the dolphin, and we're so happy in that moment. I love dolphins and I had never had the opportunity to come in contact with one. Someone gave me that experience, and we got to share a beautiful photograph with them afterward.
