Believe it or not, tuxedo pants pockets have holes in them, and they actually serve a very specific and helpful purpose. Once you hear this, you might just think that all suit pants should have such holes.
If you reach up into the top inside cover of tuxedo pants you will most likely find that there is a gap in the material. This is not a secret hole they put there to try and get the best man to lose the rings. This is not a secret hole they put there to give you access to scratch that particular itch. You know the one I mean.
The holes are there so that you can pull your shirt down cleanly and directly, from within your pockets. This is a holdover from the days where most tuxedo wearers also wore cummerbunds and could not easily (or elegantly) tuck their shirts back down into their trousers.
